Split

Split is the only city in the world which has developed from a palace – most of the old town consists of the monumental Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The nearby Saint Domnius Cathedral is one of the city`s most recognizable sights. Split is the largest Dalmatian and second largest Croatian city, with a rich tradition of culture and sports. If you want to feel its typical Mediterranean spirit, have a coffee at the Riva, the coastal promenade and the centre of the city`s social life, or hike the nearby Marjan hill and enjoy the beautiful vista of Split and its bay. Some of the many annual events taking place in Split are the Croatia Boat Show (in April) and the Ultra Europe electronic music festival (in July).
