Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik, the magnificent city with rich history and culture, world-known as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and, more recently, as a place where HBO’s Game of Thrones was filmed, is the centre of South Dalmatia. The Walls of Dubrovnik, the Rector’s Palace, the Sponza Palace, St Blaise’s Cathedral, the Stradun and many other famous sights are there, the remains of the historical Republic of Ragusa, one of the most powerful Mediterranean states. Many neighboring islands, like Lopud or Lokrum, are also worth visiting, and so are the Pelješac Peninsula and Konavle in the wider area.
