Lokrum
Lokrum is a small island across Dubrovnik, famous for its lush vegetation and a botanical garden containing many tropical plants from Australia and South America. There is also an abandoned Benedictine abbey and a 10-meter (30-foot) deep brackish lake, the Dead Sea. Some of the prominent persons who visited the island or lived there were Richard the Lionheart and Archduke Maximilian of Habsburg. The island is connected to the neighboring Dubrovnik with a regular ferry line.
